Cell Phone Towers
Our Stance:
We believe there is insufficient evidence to conclude that the radiation from cellular towers (base stations) are safe.
In our site you will find many articles and studies that indicate damage is being done to the health of those living in the
vicinity of a cell phone tower. In the face of uncertain scientific knowledge we should error on the side of caution which is
the World Health Organization's cautionary principle that is stated on our home page.
We believe that the thermal effects, or watts per meter, around cell phone towers is not the sole cause of concern. It's
the digitizing of the cell tower signal that is also a cause for concern. The digital signal interacts with delicate processes in the human physiology disrupting it's normal functioning. The harmful effects of that digital signal accumulate over time and are at the basis of the health concerns we enumerate on our site.
A simple example of informational, frequency-specific, non-thermal electromagnetic influence on a human is the ability of light flashing at a regular rate to trigger seizures in people suffering from photosensitive epilepsy. The seizure is due, not to the brightness of the light, but to the rate at which the light flashes. If it is close to the frequency of some particular brain activity it can trigger a seizure. The digitizing of the cell tower's signal acts in the same way. The erratic pulsing of the signal irritates the physiology. This is the 'non-thermal' effect that is mentioned in many of the articles.
The following article is a good overview of our concerns:
